Post-Tox TLC: What to Do If You’re Experiencing Side Effects

We know how exciting it is to come in for your tox appointment—refreshed, confident, and ready for those smooth, glowy results. But we also know that, like with any medical treatment, rare side effects can happen. And here at Sweet Tox, we believe you deserve to be informed, supported, and taken care of every step of the way.

That’s why we’re big on education, safety, and transparency—not just for our patients, but for our whole team.

💉 Safety First, Always

We don’t just say we prioritize safety—we live it. Our injectors are trained extensively before ever picking up a syringe, and we’re proud to say they continue to train every single week.

All of our providers shadow Katie (our owner and a national trainer in aesthetics!) weekly to stay sharp, consistent, and up-to-date on the latest techniques, safety protocols, and best practices in the industry. We believe that investing in our team means better care for you.

💡 Things Can Happen—Here’s What You Should Know

While side effects are rare, they can occasionally happen. These may include:

  • Mild swelling or puffiness

  • Headaches or flu-like symptoms

  • Eyelid heaviness or asymmetry

  • Minor bruising or tenderness at the injection site

Most reactions are temporary and resolve on their own within a few days to a couple of weeks. For best results, make sure you’re following our aftercare instructions given to you at the time of treatment! We provide some tips and tricks to make sure your tox stays put and you experience best results. But as the tox settles, if something doesn’t feel right, you are never bothering us by reaching out. We’re here to support you with guidance, reassurance, and hands-on care if needed.

🛡 What We’re Doing to Keep You Safe

  • Ongoing provider education + hands-on training

  • Thorough medical screening before every treatment

  • Clear pre- and post-care instructions to help optimize results

  • Open, honest communication about potential risks and outcomes

  • Quick follow-up access if anything feels off—we want to know!

💕 What You Can Do, Too

Here are a few ways to care for yourself post-tox:

  • Apply a cool compress if you feel puffy

  • Stay hydrated and limit salt/alcohol for 24–48 hours

  • Avoid rubbing or pressing on the treated area

  • Sleep slightly elevated the first night or two

  • Reach out with any questions or concerns—seriously, we mean it!

💖 Bottom Line: You’re in Good Hands

We’re not just here to help you look your best—we want you to feel fully informed and supported every step of the way. Our goal is to create a beauty experience rooted in trust, education, and excellence. And that includes being real with you about everything—from the glow-up to the “what-ifs.”

Because your confidence is our priority. Your safety is our standard. And your goals? They’re ours, too.
